Sausage & Mash with Roast Onion Gravy
Ingredients
8 sausages
15ml olive oil
2 onions, sliced
1 clove garlic
pinch of sugar
30g plain flour
1 vegetable stock cube
200g frozen sliced green beans
salt
freshly ground black pepper
60ml milk
15g unsalted butter
1 kg potatoes, peeled
Method
8 sausages

freshly ground black pepper

1 kg potatoes, peeled
Method
Cook the potatoes in for 15mins or until tender. Meanwhile,cook the sausages as you would normally.
Whilst the potatoes and sausages cook, heat the oil in a medium pan, add the onions and sauté for until golden. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 min.
Add the sugar and ground black pepper and stock cube, then gradually stir in 425ml water. Bring to the boil, and simmer for 2mins.
Drain the potatoes, return to the pan, then mash until smooth and lump free. Season to taste.
Serve with sliced green beans.
